The Florence Wreck is an archaeological site located off the coast of Alabama in the Gulf of Mexico. It is believed that the ship, which dates back to the mid-19th century, was a wooden-hulled sailing vessel used for transporting goods. The shipwreck was discovered in 1993 by a team of researchers from Texas A&M University, and it is currently being studied to learn more about life at sea during the Civil War era and the maritime history of the Gulf of Mexico. Some of the artifacts recovered from the wreck include glass bottles, ceramics, and navigation equipment.
